I showed my Little Planet composition of the Air Force Memorial at Del Ray Artisans April 2014 show on Revolution: Art & Technology and was awarded both the curator's best 2-D work in the show and the viewers choice best-in-show awards. I was very happy to get the great recognition that people like this piece. Glad to share it here on my website.
On Sunday November 3, 2013 I went down to the Mall and shot some pics of the Washington Monument. This was the last evening that the Park Service was going to have the scaffolding lights on. The earthquake repairs are complete and now the process of bringing the scaffolding down begins.
I also shot a time-lapse sequence to capture the lights as they came on one final time.
I have spent several evenings attempting to photograph the comet Pan-STARRS. I ended up catching it on three evenings: March 12, 19 and 22. I was able to find the elusive comet just after sunset in the West. I took all my pictures from the Ben Brenman park in Alexandria. It had a good western view across a nice pond with a gazebo. I have compiled the timelapse pictures into a short video.

I had a wonderful week in Vermont during late August this summer and was able to shoot a number of great Panos!
The afternoon was overcast. I was hoping for the same blue skies that I had the previous few days. Alas, I had to make due with the light I had.
And I got a great shot from the back side.
While at the Outer Banks in North Carolina this past week I had the chance to shoot some panoramas and play with perspective. Here are some the stereographic perspectives I created. Most of these were shot using a handheld camera: no tripod!
I am fascinated with the changing color of light at both sunrise and sunset. Here are several of my recents pictures taken at these magical times of day.
This is one of my early panoramas. I got up early and caught the sunrise on Lake Dunmore near Middlebury, Vermont. I was struck by the reflection of land and sky on the water.
Another early panorama that inspired me was this picture of city hall in Alexandria.
I shot this high resolution image of Otter Creek Falls in July 2012. Again, another striking example of color contrast with water, land and sky.
I have included a set of ten panoramas taken on the evening March 18, 2012 at the Tidal Basin during the peak of the Cherry Blossoms.
